One area I clearly struggle on is making things nice. Of course I am talking about websites here. Coding is a known to me but design is not such a well understood thing.
While working on my latest project, which is coming up to the 40hr mark now, I have been trying to pay attention to the design of websites that I visit. Looking at the white space and keep a page as sparse as possible to do pay dividends when it come to creating great looking sites.
I seriously doubt I can become as good at a web designer when it comes to picking a good style, if you looked at my style of dress you would understand! I can imitate and attempt to get up to a standard where people don't think god that is awful.
Getting there is taking a little longer than I was expecting but it is pushing me out of the safe zone of programming. To be successful on the web that is something I have to get used to.
