A little while ago JQueryMobile hit beta. I have looked at this library some time ago and decided while I like it I would wait until it started to stabilise before spending much time to learn it.
One of the problems I find myself with is developing nice looking web app. I have quite a list of little apps that would be fun to write and the actual programming side of things very simple and not at all taxing. The UI side of things takes me so long that I am put off writing them.
What I really want to be able to do is hammer out a UI prototype in a couple of hours, that is just the UI with minimal functionality and see how it feel. JQueryMobile seems to let me do that.
For a fairly simple app (about 4 pages) I was able to throw together the UI in a few hours and much of that time was spent looking in the documentation. It looks pretty nice, if basic.
I plan to take this experiment a little bit further and add the functionality to my little prototype. On the cards is probably an attempt to embed this into a native android app.
