Zombie Whack
Another month another game. Zombie Whack as you may have guessed it a whack-a-mole style of game except with zombies. Not an original idea I know. Compared with my last game it is an improvement. Of course it is still terrible compared with most other games out there.
For me the important things have been getting a little more familiar with LibGdx and doing some more art, although I did pilther from open clipart a bit. I am still really liking LibGdx. As a gaming API and for the simple stuff I have been doing it has been good.
So if I am not really happy with the quality why am I releasing it? From some self analysing I came to the conclusion that I am not very good at finishing at home projects. I start stuff and then move on to something else that seems exciting. By finish I mean release it. Yes often releasing something means you have only done 10% of the work but that is not important here.
So when I decided to sit down an learn LibGdx and attempt to get back into producing some games I decided releasing should be a very important part of the process. With released products I can gauge if I am getting better. Given pushing something on the android app store just means taking a few screen shots and preparing a few bits of art work this is not really a hassle.
So where next, well I am growing in confidence and want to try something larger using LibGdx. I had considered a Tower Defence game but have been gradually going off that idea. Possibly some sort of fairly limited RPG as I enjoy playing those. I am going to take a couple of days to decide.
