Why Would A Programmer Be Thinking About Creating Mini Websites?

Surely his time would be better spent creating apps?  I thought I would take the time to explain the reasons a programmer (that’s me) might want to get into this.

  • I often have what I call half down time. I don’t particularly want to code but I do want to do something productive rather than watch a film. Or perhaps I only have half an hour and that is not a duration that is conductive to programming.  I can use these times to build sites
  • It will be a good learning experience as I will have to learn more about promotion of websites and things associated with that.
  • The is no risk in trying it out. I suspect I can generate a website with less than 40 hours work. So it fits in with my 40 hour rule and as I am using time that is half dead anyway I may as well give it a go. I can stop any time I want if I find it draining.
  • I suspect it will be fun.

The first and the last reason are the two main ones really.
