Visitor Report For May 2011

After a few months of no growth and I was starting to think it was time to try out different things I get a month where most of the sites I have experience growth. The end result being I had an increase in unique visitors of nearly 70% (69.1%). Take a look at the chart below.

It is certainly nice to see but lets do a bit of analysis. The visitors to this blog are mostly finding this  place because of some android coding posts I wrote quite a while ago. The have gained some links which drive a steady number of people to them. It is funny as this blog it no longer about android programming, well at the moment anyway. This year I am trying to be focused on the web. Every month I expect this visitor count to drop but so far it seems resilient.

The voyaging mind blog seem to be naturally growing with no single blog post miles out in front. This is sort of how I prefer a blog to be. But then voyaging mind is fairly focused on my programming with coffeescript and some surrounding topics. This blog (marblemice) is slowly becoming focused on my Internet adventures and how I am attempting to grow the traffic of my websites. I am expecting voyaging mind to gradually grow as I continue to post but nothing substantial as much of the content is how my projects are going.

MarbleMice.com also saw some reasonable growth. This is down to getting some links from some HTML5 portal like sites for the games there. It is good to see this happening and is a good reminder that I should be more proactive in getting links to  my websites. Content alone is not enough, content + links to it is what is really needed.

Over this next month I am expecting my visitor count to drop a little bit. I don’t have any projects planned that will finish this month, My ideas about niche sites are still under development and there is not going to be much to show over the next month. I will post on this again in a while as my ideas have changed somewhat. App producing wise, I am embarking on a slightly longer to develop game which definitely will not be done this month.

Basically it is going to be a bit of a heads down month with the aim of laying down a foundation on which further growth can be built on. With my goal of reaching 2000 unique visitors a month before the end of the year I am well aware I can’t afford to have too many of these types of months.
